INFO
As Finns around the world prepare to celebrate 100 years of independence in 2017, it is time to both reflect on and celebrate our identity as a people. Across languages and culture, history and heritage, hometowns and generations, the centennial anniversary marks an exciting occasion for Finns of all backgrounds to gather together.
The theme of our 2017 celebrations is “yhdessä,” or “together.” Events will be hosted throughout Metro Vancouver and the Lower Mainland year-round. We invite our Finnish friends and neighbours of all ages and backgrounds to gather together in this special time. The celebrate Finland's 100 Years of Independence in Vancouver, the Finland 100 Vancouver (F100V) Committee was formed to lead the festivities. The leadership team consists of Chairperson Pauli Juoksu, Pete Kosonen, Karina Linder, Kristiina Morrison and Honorary Consul Tom Nyberg. Committees are formed with other volunteers to put on the various events happening throughout the year. F100V reports on its activities to Finland House Society. |
